Position Overview

The Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial data, compliance with standards, and timely reporting. This role supervises accounting staff, assists in audits, manages complex reconciliations, and contributes to financial planning and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Review journal entries, vouchers, and supporting schedules.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management on financial performance and risks.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with auditors (internal and external) and prepare required documentation.
  • Monitor adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff and officers.
  • Assign tasks, review outputs, and provide training and guidance.
  • Support team development and performance evaluations.

Process & Systems Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
  • Support system upgrades or implementations of accounting/ERP software.
  • Ensure efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of accounting operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, taxation, and local regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
