The VP of Procurement is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing the entire procurement function to support the company's goals.
This includes developing procurement strategies, driving cost efficiency, ensuring supply chain continuity, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The role involves working closely with executive leadership and managing a high-performing procurement team. Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Planning:Develop and implement global procurement strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Focus on cost savings, supplier innovation, risk management, and sustainability. Collaborate with senior leadership to set long-term procurement goals. Procurement Operations:Oversee daily procurement operations ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Manage sourcing, supplier selection, and risk mitigation. Lead digital transformation within procurement using new technologies. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Negotiate high-value contracts with favorable terms. Develop supplier performance metrics for continuous improvement. Team Management & Development:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
Provide guidance and development opportunities for team growth. Oversee recruitment and retention of skilled procurement talent. Financial Oversight & Budget Management:Manage procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective sourcing.
Monitor performance against KPIs and drive cost-reduction initiatives. Develop procurement policies to ensure legal and regulatory compliance. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
Uphold ethical procurement practices and corporate social responsibility. Job Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred). Experience: Minimum of 10 years in procurement/supply chain, with 5 years in senior leadership.
Skills:Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior executives.
Knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and technologies. Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities. Proactive and adaptable to a fast-changing environment.
