We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Admitting Staff to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will help ensure that patients and their families have a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they arrive at our facility. As the first point of contact, your friendly demeanor and professional handling of admissions are essential in fostering a positive atmosphere for our patients. You will be responsible for gathering necessary patient information, verifying insurance details, and assisting with any questions or concerns that may arise during the admission process. Your ability to communicate clearly, exhibit empathy, and maintain confidentiality will be crucial as you interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends/assists to the needs of the patient upon admission.
- Interviews incoming patients prior to admission and collects insurance, information and other data required to be encoded into the hospital system.
- Reports and checks HMO validity and coverage to specific HMO's company prior to admission of HMO member / patients.
- Assigns beds according to medical needs and room availability, explain policy regarding personal items and visiting hours, input data into the hospital information system, admission logbook and computer excel, prepare and gives patient identification bands, and arrange for the transportation to the assigned room.
- Prepares and provides daily admission census copies / print out.
- Informs the attending physicians and dietary department regarding the direct admission.
- Assists OPD patients / relatives in filing up the Patient Data Sheet with out-patient procedures to be performed at the Operating Room and encode the information into the hospital system when necessary.
- Attends to patients / relatives inquiries courteously and correctly.
- Receives telephone calls
- During night time, admitting are tasked to do card verification and informing HMO office of their admission (only HMO's with 24 hour hotline would be notified).
- Protects patient's rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Carries out specified and delegated functions from the Department Head and Supervisor and makes proper endorsement every start and end of the shift.
- Participates in the planning for improvement of the department and maintain the cleanliness of the area.
- Maintains and keeps the record in order, confidential and safe environment.
- Maintains the accuracy of daily work.
- Performs other assignment as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of any four-year course.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
