Hospital Information/HMO Staff manage and coordinate services between patients, the hospital, and accredited Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), handling patient inquiries, verifying member IDs and coverage, facilitating admissions and consultations, processing necessary paperwork, and ensuring smooth credit and collection processes. They act as a crucial point of contact, ensuring patients understand their benefits and the hospital receives proper payment for services rendered under their respective HMO plans. Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Patient Assistance: Respond to patient inquiries regarding their health cards and how to use them.
- Member Verification: Verify the patient's HMO membership, ID, and coverage for both outpatient and inpatient cases.
- Documentation: Collect and process required documents, such as referral slips and letters of authorization, to validate claims and facilitate services.
- Coordination with HMOs: Liaise with HMOs to gain pre-authorization for procedures and consultations.
- Admission Support: Guide patients through the admission process, confirming eligibility and completing necessary paperwork.
- Credit and Collection: Manage the process of receiving payments and following up on claims from the HMOs.
- Accreditation Management: Maintain updated records of HMO policies and help with the accreditation of medical staff with HMOs.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule appointments for outpatient visits with affiliated doctors.
- Reporting: Prepare statistical reports on HMO utilization for the hospital.
