Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Advisory: Provide timely and practical legal advice to management and all departments (operations, marketing, HR, finance, product).
  • Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with partners, vendors, and customers.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to BSP and SEC regulations, Data Privacy Act, and other applicable laws. Act as compliance officer.
  • Complaints Handling: Act as the Complaints Officer, managing complex customer complaints and regulatory inquiries.
  • Data Privacy: Support or act as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in ensuring compliance with data privacy requirements.
  • Corporate Secretary Duties: Prepare board resolutions, minutes, and corporate documents; maintain SEC filings.
  • Policy Development: Draft and implement internal policies, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Coordinate with regulators such as the BSP, SEC, NPC, and other relevant agencies

Qualifications

  • Holds a law degree and is licensed or admitted to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in a corporate or in-house legal role, ideally within a multinational or technology-driven organization.
  • Strong working knowledge of contract law, corporate law, employment and contractor regulations, data privacy law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Filipino.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across functions.
  • Previous experience as DPO or Compliance Officer is a plus.
  • Previous experience in Lending or Financing companies is a plus.
