Role Overview:

The Network & Security Engineer will design, implement, and secure client network environments, manage Microsoft 365 security solutions, and lead technical projects for migrations, security assessments, and infrastructure optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and site-to-site topologies.
  • Deploy and manage Microsoft 365 Defender across identity, endpoint, email, and data.
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts from platforms like SentinelOne, Ironscales, Defender, SIEM.
  • Perform vulnerability remediation and drive hardening strategies.
  • Lead technical execution for client migrations, security assessments, and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with project managers and client success teams to deliver secure and reliable environments.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, documentation, and infrastructure standards.

Experience & Proficiency

  • 4–8+ years in network or security engineering (MSP or multi-client environments a plus).
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3 routing, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall platforms (Meraki, Fortinet, Cisco).
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Conditional Access, Entra ID).
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, ConnectWise, or similar).
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to improve system security.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical detail into client clarity.

Certifications (Preferred but not Required)

  • Microsoft SC-200, AZ-500, MS-500
  • CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, or equivalent
