A. Network Administration
- Assist the Network Administrator in all aspects of network administration such as but not limited to intranet, Internet, network cabling, remote access, and E-mail service.
- Monitors efficient network usage and suggest necessary enhancements.
- Coordinates with HR Admin for electrical and network cabling.
- In charge of the creation of email addresses for new employees and assigning rights for users to access the computer network.
- Ensures that the network is free of unauthorized connections.
- Ensures the network is free of malicious software and virus/trojans/worms and the likes.
B. Server Administration
- Ensures servers have the most recent software and drivers.
- Ensures that the server meets the capacity of users, whether processing or hard disk allocation.
- Designs effective backup strategy and performs daily back-up of information stored in the server.
C. Computer Hardware Setup, Maintenance and Support
- Sets-up computer units including installation of needed software/program.
- Prepares and issues the Acknowledgment Receipt to new computer users.
- Conducts diagnostic, troubleshooting, and technical support procedures on computer and printer hardware problems.
- Recommends partial or full replacement of defective computer units/parts or peripherals.
- Provides computer hardware specifications needed for repairs or new purchases.
- Checks specifications of new computer units upon delivery to determine if consistent with the purchase order.
- Handles on-site installations or set-up.
- Trains users on basic troubleshooting of hardware.
D. Procurement and Accountability
- Prepares IT recommendations for computer units or peripherals.
- Prepares purchase requests (PR) and requests for payment (RFP) for procured hardware.
- Monitors proper filing of computer/software-related documents.
- Takes custody and maintains inventory of computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Monitors computer-related accountability of employees.
- Assists Network Administrator in creating various manuals on hardware basic troubleshooting and network administration.
E. Other Functions
- Trains and monitors the performance of the Technical Support Associate(s).
- Trains/assists users in the proper use and maintenance of computers.
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
