Job Description

As a Junior Accountant, you will manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations for multiple clients while preparing to take on senior-level responsibilities. You'll ensure accurate financial data, process transactions, and assist with reconciliations, steadily building your expertise in full-cycle accounting.

The Qualifications We Seek

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; CPA/CA candidate is a plus.
• 3+ years of previous experience in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• Process-oriented with the ability to follow specific directions and established processes when needed.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Gusto, Bill, Ramp, or Xero is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and excellent numerical accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time efficiently.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks.

Your Daily Tasks

Core Accounting Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the accounting email inbox for assigned clients.
• Enter and maintain financial data, ensuring accuracy in expense reports and financial statements.
• Process accounts receivable and accounts payable, maintaining timely and accurate transactions.
• Handle payroll processing for multiple clients, ensuring compliance and timely payments.
• Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and recording financial transactions.
• Keep detailed and organized records of customer, vendor, and payroll data for accurate historical reporting.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, including cash and credit card accounts.

Senior Accountant Transition Training & Growth Areas:

• Conduct and review reconciliations for bank accounts, sub-ledgers, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and notes payable.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for Accounting Manager review, summarizing account information and identifying trends for client reporting.
• Ensure compliance with document retention policies and maintain accurate transaction documentation.
• Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Ensure all accounting processes adhere to GAAP and other applicable regulatory standards.
