Job Description

As an Estimator, you will review project plans, collaborate with stakeholders, and prepare detailed cost estimates that ensure accuracy, efficiency, and profitability in construction projects. You will play a key role in driving project success by combining technical expertise with cost optimization.

The Qualifications We Seek

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (preferably with Australian-based projects).
• Proficiency in PlanSwift and familiarity with AutoCAD for quantity take-offs.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) is a plus.
• Previous experience as an Estimator for a construction company.
• Principal Contractor Builder experience for an Australian-based company.

Your Daily Tasks

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to determine project scope, timelines, and materials.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for construction projects.
• Obtain and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to incorporate into project estimates.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses.
• Present cost estimates and bid proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
• Participate in bid negotiations and provide clarification on cost estimates.
• Update and maintain databases of material costs, labor rates, and pricing information.
• Monitor project costs and provide ongoing support to ensure budget compliance.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving initiatives to optimize project profitability.
