About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate tracking of inventory, timely reconciliation of movements and valuation, and strong collaboration with Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics teams. The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong experience in inventory processes and cost accounting.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely inventory records across warehouses, suppliers, and customer sites
  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliation between physical count, system balances (ERP), and GL
  • Monitor inventory movements (inbound, outbound, returns, adjustments) and ensure proper documentation
  • Analyze variances such as shrinkage, obsolescence, write-offs, and costing differences
  • Support month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and inventory reserves

Inventory Control & Analysis

  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to resolve discrepancies
  • Review and validate costing (standard cost, landed cost, BOM components if applicable)
  • Provide insights on slow-moving, excess, and aging inventory
  • Assist in cycle counts and annual physical inventory

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Improve inventory workflows, controls, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Support audit requirements by preparing schedules and reconciliations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • Preferably a CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Minimum 3–5 years experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or related role
  • Strong understanding of inventory processes, costing methods, and accounting principles
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is an advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
