Quantity Estimator / Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a Quantity Estimator / Quality Assurance Engineer who will be responsible for cost estimation, budget monitoring, and ensuring quality standards in all phases of our construction projects. The role combines quantity surveying tasks such as preparing BOQs, estimates, and cost reports with quality assurance responsibilities including inspections, testing, and compliance with project specifications. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to both cost efficiency and high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and material take-offs.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accurate cost projections.
  • Monitor project budgets, track cost variances, and prepare progress payments, claims, and variations.
  • Conduct site inspections to validate actual quantities, work accomplishments, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop and implement QA/QC plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform material inspections, testing, and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Identify non-conformities, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and contractors on cost and quality-related concerns.
  • Provide cost advice, value engineering, and quality improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate cost reports, quality documentation, and inspection records for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Preferably a Licensed Civil Engineer.
  • At least 2 years of combined experience in quantity surveying/estimating and QA/QC in construction.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimating software.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC standards, material testing, and ISO procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate with multiple teams.
