About the Role

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in architecting cloud-based data ecosystems. You'll lead the design, implementation, and optimization of large-scale data solutions using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics—empowering data engineers and analysts to build smarter systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architect end-to-end data solutions on Azure Databricks and related Azure data services.
  • Lead deployment and operationalization of Databricks environments ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Define data models, pipelines, and governance frameworks in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage using Spark and Databricks notebooks.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for Databricks jobs using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and governance standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and stay ahead of emerging data technologies.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, with 3+ years focused on Azure Databricks.
  • Expertise in Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Databricks SQL.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake Storage, and Azure DevOps.
  • Proven success designing enterprise-scale Azure data platforms.
  • Strong grasp of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and governance.
  • Hands-on with Python, Scala, and SQL in a big data context.
Good-to-Have
  • Experience with real-time data streaming (Azure Event Hubs/Kafka).
  • Familiarity with Databricks Lakehouse, MLflow, Unity Catalog, and MLOps.
  • Integration experience with Power BI or Tableau.
  • Understanding of GDPR/HIPAA data compliance.
  • Databricks certification (Fundamentals or Advanced Data Engineering).
