Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Architect with deep expertise in Katalon Studio to lead automation strategy, framework design, and end-to-end implementation across Web, Mobile, and API platforms. The ideal candidate will provide strong technical leadership, define automation best practices, ensure scalable solutions across squads, and integrate automation seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and manage the automation project end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Define and implement the automation strategy and framework architecture.
  • Provide regular project updates to key stakeholders on schedule, progress, risks, and issues.
  • Validate and enforce automation best practices across all teams.
  • Mentor and guide automation engineers on technical and design aspects.
  • Continuously improve frameworks to meet evolving software, OS, tool, and environment needs.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design scalable, maintainable automation frameworks using Katalon Studio for Web, Mobile, and API testing.
  • Architect tool integrations across the testing ecosystem (test management, CI/CD, reporting, etc.).
  • Define solution design for cross-platform test automation with effective modularity and reusability.
  • Develop custom utilities (test data generation, dashboards, reporting, etc.) tailored to client needs.
  • Replicate automation frameworks across multiple squads, ensuring consistency in implementation.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience in Katalon Studio for Web, API, and Mobile (Android/iOS) testing.
  • Proven ability in designing and developing hybrid, data-driven, and keyword-driven frameworks.
  • Excellent programming skills in Java or Groovy.
  • Conceptually strong in API automation (REST/SOAP) — authentication, payloads, response validation.
  • Experience in integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
  • Experience with Version Control tools (Git, Bitbucket) and Test Management tools (JIRA, Zephyr, qTest, ALM, etc.).
  • Exposure to Robot Framework for desktop-based automation (preferred).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Track record of successfully driving automation adoption and maturity across projects.

  • Exposure to performance and security testing integration within automation.
  • Working experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and pipeline orchestration.
