Responsibilities

The Structural Engineer I role will assist in designing and analyzing telecommunication mounts to ensure they are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed. The candidate will work under direct supervision in preparation for advancement to the journey level of Engineer II.

Key Tasks include:

  • Determining relevant site exposure conditions
  • Building and analyzing models in RISA 3D
  • Ensuring projects comply with codes and regulations
  • Identifying the cause of structural failures, damage, and defects through site investigation photos
  • Evaluating building codes
  • Preparing reports, designs and drawings from specified requirements
  • Making calculations about loads and stresses
  • Selecting appropriate construction materials

Graduates are required to have a university degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering. All candidates must be able to display a solid working knowledge of Engineering principals. Experience in the telecommunications field is preferred.
