
Accounting Manager

Overall responsibility for accurate client deliverables including project work, reporting
and execution of SOW's. Oversee staffing & training. Coach, mentor and guide accounting staff
in their responsibilities. This is an "all hands-on deck" environment - completing technical
accounting tasks will be required to ensure deadlines and client satisfaction.
This role is approximately 30% managerial and 70% client accounting deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Daily
• Daily awareness and tracking of deadlines in Asana as they relate to project and monthly residuals.
• Review reports.
• Maintain overall responsibility for client communications.
• Be available for troubleshooting and questions from accounting staff.
• Deliver project work which cannot be delegated to staff.
• Provide updates to Owner as needed.
• Maintain personal email inbox with a 24-hour response time.
• Check client email inboxes 2-3 times daily, maintaining a 24-hour response time
• Follow company processes and protocols.
Weekly
• Meet with Owner to review new projects, existing client updates and staff updates.
• Pay bills for clients.
• Follow up with clients who have not responded on project inquiries
• Be prepared to cover staff who are absent for time-sensitive responsibilities such as payroll, 401K deposits, cash flow management.
• Evaluate project deadlines.
Bi-Weekly
• Meet with accounting staff separately to manage ongoing deadlines as they relate to the monthly closing process and project updates.
• Assist with or run client payroll
Monthly
• Review all reports related to the monthly closing process.
• Ensure accuracy of all client reports.
• Ensure staff meets monthly deadlines and all processes are being followed. Review internal accounting and staff processes.
• Conduct/oversee client meetings.
Annually
• Oversee 1099 process, review reports, hold meetings with clients who have an annual
report review, collaborate with client CPAs on questions related to client reports, overall responsibility for Y/E J/E's.
• Supervises: Accounting Staff & Lead Accountant
Non-negotiable skills & requirements:
- 5 - 7 years of US client accounting services experience using QuickBooks Online.
- Experience managing 25+ client concurrently,
- US payroll, payroll tax and sales tax, QuickBooks Online file clean-up,
- Strong communication skills in English and
- Managing two or more accounting staff is required.
Work Setup:
- In-office preferred - Hybrid: Starting with
4 days office and 1 day remote
. This setup will be
reviewed based on performance
. - Night shift WFH candidates must have prior
night shift experience
– otherwise not considered

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- 5-8 years of related experience managing staff & multiple client deliverables concurrently
- Strong accounting experience with a strong financial report review and month end
- closing background.
- Expertise in QuickBooks Online (5-7) and related software
- Experience functioning as a company finance or accounting team leader or manager
- Ability to clearly and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and peers, in English, over telephone and in writing.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Advanced Excel capabilities, QuickBooks
- Online and Desktop, , software integrations with QuickBooks Online
