An HR assistant is an entry-level role that provides administrative support to the human resources department by handling tasks like managing employee records, assisting with recruitment, processing payroll, and responding to employee inquiries. This position is crucial for keeping the department's daily operations running smoothly and ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Core responsibilities
Employee record management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, employment contracts, and benefit information.
- Recruitment and onboarding: Assisting with job postings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting new employee orientations.
- Payroll and compensation: Supporting payroll processing by verifying hours, calculating salaries, and resolving any errors. They also handle compensation and benefits documentation.
- Administrative support: Answering employee questions, taking notes at meetings, managing calendars, and performing general office duties like managing supplies.
- Compliance: Helping the organization adhere to federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employment, health, and safety.
