Documentation Specialist

Create and organize informative articles and guides for customers and employees. Develop clear instructions that are easy to understand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical documents like software guides, user manuals, how-to articles, and update notes.
  • Collaborate with software developers and product teams to comprehend new features.
  • Translate complex technical language into simple English.
  • Design diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts to explain intricate concepts.
  • Organize documents so they can be easily accessed.
  • Test instructions to ensure they function correctly.
  • Update outdated documents to maintain their accuracy and usefulness.
  • Work with support teams to determine necessary documentation.
  • Establish standard formats and templates to maintain consistency in all documents.
  • Engage in new projects and suggest ways to enhance our documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • You must be a Tier III employee or higher.
  • You must meet or exceed quality standards.
  • You cannot have any current disciplinary warnings.
  • You must have a good attendance record.
  • You can work from any location.
  • You must work Monday-Friday, 6 AM to 5 PM Central Time.
  • You must possess strong writing skills and be able to explain complex ideas simply.
  • You must have experience creating various types of technical documents.
  • You must be comfortable asking engineers many questions to gather information.
  • You must be familiar with documentation software like Confluence, Zendesk Guide, or similar.
  • You must have good research skills to find information from different sources.
  • You must be able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • You must possess good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • You must be able to collaborate effectively with others and communicate clearly.
Preferred Experience:
  • Writing API documentation (guides for programmers).
  • Experience with 'docs-as-code' (treating documentation like code).
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira software.
  • Documentation for online marketplaces or platforms.
  • Experience in the lawn care or home services industry.
