Role: Canadian Tax Expert

We are seeking a meticulous and organized individual to support our client's real estate and development portfolio by providing full-cycle bookkeeping services.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform financial tasks in QuickBooks Online (Canadian edition) for multiple properties, ensuring accurate categorization of transactions according to provided guidelines.
  2. Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and data from Airbnb, long-term rentals, and development projects.
  3. Prepare data and schedules required for Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) returns for review and filing by our Canadian accountant.
  4. Assist in gathering documentation for year-end tax preparation and audits.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or junior accounting role.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online. Experience with an international version (Canada, US, etc.) is highly beneficial.
  • International clients experience is advantageous
  • Data management skills using Google Sheets/Excel and excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with receipt management tools (Hubdoc, Dext) is a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn under supervision.
