Maximizing Revenue Through Effective Accounts Receivable Management

About the Role:

This position plays a pivotal role in optimizing revenue cycles and ensuring timely collections. The AR Collections Specialist will oversee accounts receivable processes, review outstanding balances, and resolve billing discrepancies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement efficient accounts receivable collection strategies.
  • Analyze and follow up on aged accounts to ensure prompt payments.
  • Investigate and resolve payment posting discrepancies and billing errors.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and internal stakeholders to address payment issues.
  • Utilize advanced medical billing software, such as Athena Health EMR, to track and manage accounts receivable activities.
  • Identify and prioritize high-risk accounts based on delinquency levels, optimizing collection efforts for maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with the billing and coding team to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role or related field within the healthcare industry.
  • Proficiency in using Athena Health EMR system is required.
  • In-depth understanding of medical billing procedures and insurance claims processes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and exceed performance targets.
