We are looking for a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expansion through strategic partnerships with colleges and universities in the USA and Canada.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify and secure partnerships with educational institutions, aligning our platform with their needs and goals.
- Conduct thorough market research to understand the challenges and opportunities within the education sector.
- Develop tailored strategies for engaging with institutional clients, creating proposals, and presenting our value proposition to academic decision-makers.
- Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Presentation and pitching of our platform to educational leaders, showcasing its benefits for student engagement and academic performance.
- Negotiation of terms, contract finalization, and smooth handoff to the partnerships team for onboarding.
- Maintenance of long-term relationships with universities, ensuring a deep understanding of their evolving needs.
- Collaboration with internal teams (product, marketing, and client success) to ensure successful implementation of our platform within partnered institutions.
- Identification of opportunities for upselling or introducing new features and services.
- Adaptation of strategies to emerging trends in the higher education sector.
- Participation in educational conferences, webinars, and networking events to increase our visibility and attract potential partners.
- Tracking, analysis, and reporting of key performance indicators related to business development efforts, ensuring that goals and revenue targets are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, preferably within the education sector or EdTech.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
- Proven track record of closing large deals with academic institutions and building long-term strategic partnerships.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to structure win-win deals that benefit both parties.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather insights from data and market trends to inform business strategies.
- Ability to think strategically about growth opportunities, while also being hands-on in execution.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trust and rapport with senior academic stakeholders.
