Australian Accounting Specialist

The Australian Accounting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for Australian businesses. This role requires expertise in various accounting software and a deep understanding of Australian tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger entries.
  • Process payroll, including superannuation and PAYG withholding.
  • Manage cash flow and budgeting processes.
  • Produce regular financial reports for management.
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors as needed.
  • Utilize accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks Online for accurate bookkeeping and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience in Australia.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Education: Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent qualifications.
  • Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian taxation, including GST, BAS preparation, superannuation, and PAYG.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with Australian clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide financial insights to improve business efficiency.
