Accounts Receivable Professional

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will support the finance team in managing the billing and collections process, ensuring timely payment and maintaining a positive cash flow.

  • Maintain and update customer records, including contact changes, mergers, and billing information to ensure accurate data.
  • Draft and send collection correspondence for past-due accounts and initiate follow-up with delinquent customers to resolve outstanding balances.
  • Identify and monitor overdue accounts, generate aging reports, and support collection strategies to minimize losses.
  • Research customer payment discrepancies and resolve billing issues in collaboration with the AR Manager and Customer Service team to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the Staff Accountant to reconcile AR accounts at least twice monthly to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports on account status as requested by management to provide valuable insights.
  • Ensure accurate filing, documentation, and retrieval of AR-related materials to maintain a well-organized system.
  • Communicate account changes and payment updates to internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication.
Key Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred to have a solid foundation in financial principles.
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting functions to possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Experience using ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite) is highly valued to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, to analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Familiarity with AR reporting tools and financial software to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
