Key Insights and Modeling Expert

This position is primarily responsible for developing, validating, and implementing relevant scorecards and models across the mass retail segment. The functional objectives are achieved by turning raw data into valuable insights and later into models needed by the business in order to grow, manage risk, and compete.

Responsibilities:
  • The development of various scorecards/models for the segment, including credit application, behavior, revenue, propensity, collections, and remedial/recovery scorecards.
  • Assessment and dimensioning of data quality using exploratory data analysis to ensure a robust database for modeling.
  • Exploration and adoption of strategic models using traditional and alternative methods utilizing both internal and external data to support the bank's strategic thrust.
  • Advanced qualitative and quantitative assessments on all aspects of models including theoretical aspects, model design, and implementation.
  • Ensuring model development and subsequent changes have comprehensive documentation in terms of design and key decisions.
  • Identifying risks associated with developed models using monitoring reports to confirm that models remain appropriate for a given portfolio.
  • Evaluation of model performance regularly and setting tools or benchmarks to trigger model revisions or retirement.
  • The rollout of models ensuring implementation plans have rigorous pre-implementation testing procedures and comprehensive user acceptance testing to ensure accuracy and smooth implementation.
  • Maintenance of high-level coordination with all departments/stakeholders to ensure any impact of the model strategies, changes in product configuration, pricing, etc. which may affect default rates, acceptance rates, or customers in any other way are managed properly.
  • Coordination with the bank's risk management office to secure prescribed approvals for model implementation and compliance to the model risk framework and governance.
  • Advocacy towards user understanding and acceptance of models and associate analytics, including written and verbal presentations to model users, stakeholders, managers, and oversight groups.
