Job Overview

The In-Field Mentor role is a part-time position supporting missionaries in their first twelve weeks in the field. The mentor trains remotely using principles and missionary resources to real-world experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with missionaries for coaching, facilitation, and follow-up sessions.
  • Prepare instruction plans following an approved curriculum to meet the missionary's needs.
  • Direct missionaries in planning and accounting for their learning.
  • Implement direction and training from leadership.
  • Attend weekly training meetings.
  • Ensure continued growth and understanding of best practices and PMG curriculum.
  • Report on needs and progress to leadership.
  • Coach missionaries in preparation and during live sessions.
  • Ensure the well-being of each missionary.
Requirements
  • Must be a returned missionary or currently teaching at an MTC unless exceptional language need is identified.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) at a high proficiency in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Preach My Gospel.
  • Ability to train remotely through video calls.
  • Excellent interpersonal, prioritizing, professionalism, and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well with people.
  • Willing to receive and implement feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Returned missionary of 2 years or less.
  • MTC classroom teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience with online interactions.
