We are seeking an exceptional accounting professional to join our team as an Associate Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about finance and numbers to grow their career in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will have expertise in managing day-to-day record keeping, overseeing accounts receivable and payable processes, and assisting clients with planning and forecasting. Additionally, they will be responsible for preparing financial statements, closing month-end processes, and ensuring timely tracking and delivery of client milestones.

  • Manage day-to-day record keeping for management reporting and analytical purposes.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and invoicing processes.
  • Assist clients with planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, close month-end processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Act as our firm's expert on client internal processes, documenting learnings, and assisting in control development and improvement.
  • Collaborate directly with clients to obtain documentation and information, ensuring timely tracking and delivery of client milestones.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional communication with all stakeholders.
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed to support the firm or team members.
  • Solve problems as they arise and escalate to managers when necessary.
Requirements:
  • A graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Bookkeeping.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with full-cycle bookkeeping.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and software, such as QuickBooks Online, Receipt Bank, Yardi, etc.
  • Familiarity with CRA requirements and filings (HST, WSIB, EHT).
  • Experience with cloud-based bookkeeping software (QBO, XERO, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong people skills and a team-player mindset are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adaptable, able to work in changing environments, multitask, and prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Motivated, self-starter eager to take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Continuous learning and skills improvement mentality.
  • Deliver on commitments, set clear objectives, and goals.
  • Strong time-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience working on graveyard shifts is mandatory.
