Job Title: Business Development Manager, Global Expansion

Job Overview:

The Business Development Manager, Global Expansion, will provide strategic leadership to the global business development team. This includes recruiting and developing talent as the team expands to meet ambitious growth goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Enable a team of hybrid business development representatives (BDRs) to exceed quarterly and annual new business pipeline generation targets for enterprise account executives.
  • Expand a team of BDRs using a foundational business development team plan.
  • Support BDRs through onboarding, ramp-up, and ongoing coaching and development to ensure consistent attainment of goals across the team.
  • Provide a solid understanding of the company's technology stack to support the BDR team with lead follow-up and proactive outreach.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one review meetings and daily team 'huddles' to share best practices.
  • Coach direct reports regarding strategies to increase conversion rates across the board to create more pipeline.
  • Build strong working relationships with marketing, regional sales directors, sales operations, recruitment, and HR teams and become a valued member of the leadership team.
  • Attend weekly sales team meetings to maintain alignment with the field sales team.
  • Consistently monitor the team's performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive the team forward to exceed expectations.
  • Be vocal in bringing suggestions to facilitate new processes, tools, communications, training, and methodologies to ensure the on-going evolution of the global team.
  • Occasional travel, as well as the ability to represent the company at events.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable understanding of the business development role.
  • Expertise in coaching and leading business development teams to success.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately report.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks to successful completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of information security concepts and the industry landscape.
  • Ability and experience in providing regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics on key activity.
  • Ability to work as part of a virtual cross-functional team.
  • Proven capability of developing talent that progresses through the business.
  • Ability to work with and gain input and resources from multiple teams and disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience running business development or inside sales teams.
  • 2+ years of experience as a BDR representative in the software industry.
  • 2+ years of experience as an inside sales representative in the software industry advantageous.
