Job Description

The Junior Controller plays a critical role in the financial operations of an organization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Management: Oversee accounting operations, including expenses, fixed assets, leasing, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.
  • Subsidiary Accounting: Manage subsidiary accounting, supervising accounting activities for subsidiaries and working directly with third-party accounting firms.
  • Financial Accuracy: Ensure financial accuracy by reviewing and analyzing intercompany accounts, posting subsidiary trial balances, and performing variance analysis to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Handle financial reporting and compliance by preparing monthly and year-end financial reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and managing audits and filings for subsidiaries.
  • Process Improvement: Improve processes by leading continuous improvement efforts, identifying and implementing solutions to enhance accounting processes, and providing support for various ad hoc projects.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree or CPA certification being a plus.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably within a BPO or service company, and a background with an international company is a must.
  • Skills and Qualifications: A strong grasp of US GAAP, financial controls, and a working knowledge of forecasting and financial reports.
  • Soft Skills: The ability to work effectively with all levels of management and motivate others outside of their direct control.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication abilities and a flexible attitude towards changing priorities.
