Job Title: Financial Operations Specialist

The General Accountant is a pivotal role within the finance department, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position involves a range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update general ledgers to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assist in preparing ad-hoc and monthly reports to provide stakeholders with timely insights.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Support the treatment of prepayments, accruals, and capitalization to optimize financial reporting.

Additional Duties:
  • Verify payables entries to the correct subsidiary, department, and location.
  • Provide reporting on payables and receivables, assisting both the AP and AR departments in their work.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Proven experience in general accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Australian standards is optimal, NZ & US additional.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
