Content Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Content Specialist to create and organize high-quality articles and guides for our customers and employees.

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, with the ability to explain complex information in simple terms.

You will work closely with technical teams to develop engaging content that meets the needs of our audience.

  • Loves to find innovative ways to present information
  • Is great at researching and verifying data
  • Asks questions until they fully understand something
  • Is passionate about staying up-to-date on industry trends
Main Responsibilities:
  • Create clear and concise technical documents (like software guides, user manuals, how-to articles, and update notes)
  • Collaborate with software developers and product teams to understand new features and developments
  • Translate technical language into plain English that anyone can understand
  • Develop helpful visuals like diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts
  • Organize documents so people can easily find what they need
  • Test the instructions you write to ensure they are accurate and effective
  • Update old documents to keep them relevant and useful
  • Work with support teams to identify areas where documentation can be improved
  • Create standard formats and templates to maintain consistency across all documents
  • Identify opportunities to improve our documentation and suggest solutions
Requirements:
  • Must be a Tier III employee or higher
  • Must meet or exceed quality standards
  • No current disciplinary warnings
  • Good attendance record
  • Ability to work from any location
  • Strong writing skills - can explain difficult concepts in simple terms
  • Experience writing different types of technical documents
  • Comfortable asking engineers many questions to gather information
  • Familiarity with documentation software like Confluence, Zendesk Guide, or similar
  • Good research skills to find information from various sources
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Good organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively
Preferred Experience:
  • Writing API documentation (guides for programmers)
  • Experience with docs-as-code (treating documentation like code)
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira software
  • Documentation for online marketplaces or platforms
  • Experience in lawn care or home services industry
