Job Overview

The role of a Technical Content Specialist involves overseeing the governance and health of a knowledge base, promoting its correct and widespread usage. This includes creating guidelines for capturing information and ensuring it remains up-to-date.

This full-time position reports to the Instructional Design Manager within the Global Learning Innovation and Design (GLID) Team - Training and Development Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • We seek an experienced technical writer skilled in breaking down complex processes into clear steps.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in content writing is required.
  • Independent experience in creating engaging online articles, guides, and user support content is essential.
  • Proficiency in writing and graphics tools, including online platforms, is necessary.
  • Strong understanding of formatting techniques, such as headers, bolding, icons, lists, tables, and screenshots, is required.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and develop innovative solutions is crucial.
  • Self-motivated with a penchant for self-development and learning new skills quickly.
  • Collaborative mindset, with excellent team and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines while maintaining a positive work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in managing knowledge bases as a writer and administrator is preferred.
  • Understanding of Search Engine Optimization principles is beneficial.
  • Background in creating video tutorials can be advantageous.
  • Leadership experience can be beneficial.
Minimum Requirements
  • Completed TiVo Training program.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Familiarity with editing strategies and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated spelling, grammar, and time management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows XP, MS Word, and MS Excel is required.
