Trust Reconciliation Specialist Job Description

In this key role, you will be responsible for the reconciliation of trust accounts and investments to ensure alignment with sound risk management practices, governance standards, and compliance requirements. This involves independently reviewing and reconciling trust accounts, transactions, and investment holdings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile trust-related documents by verifying inventory of numbered forms and collateral documents under safekeeping.
  • Perform daily and periodic reconciliations of securities holdings against official records and custodial accounts.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of float items by reporting daily cash and sundry floats and assisting in minimizing unresolved items.
  • Validate system functionalities to prevent account closures or redemptions that breach policy; ensure accurate trust fee generation and maintain zero-float status in closed accounts.
  • Monitor and ensure accurate valuation of investments in non-marketable equity securities and real property; document related processes.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies by creating reference guides and ensuring consistent application across float types and reconciliations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Management, or a related field in Finance.
  • At least 6 months of experience in bank or trust operations; operations audit experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of banking/trust products, finance, and investments with well-developed analytical, planning, and computer skills.
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and resourceful, with effective communication skills and a proactive work approach.
