Daily Responsibilities

  • Ensure drivers maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and meet customer requirements.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for drivers and management.
  • Monitor daily driving logs to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Assist the Deputy Terminal Manager in ensuring truck and driver readiness.
  • Develop daily plans to balance drivers' health and safety with customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage loads to minimize truck/driver requirements.
  • Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
  • Identify special needs of shipments and assist drivers in obtaining necessary documents.

Requirements

This position requires:

  • A high school degree or equivalent; a Logistics or transportation degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DOT and OSHA compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Quick and thorough data entry/input background, including experience with Excel and cloud-based storage systems.
  • Clear English speaking skills – an accent is acceptable, but the ability to communicate effectively is essential.
  • Critical thinking and fast responsiveness are also required.
