Medical Virtual Assistant / Intake Coordinator Job Summary

Responsibilities:
  • Patient Intake Management: Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments with healthcare providers.
  • Medical Record Handling: Ensure accurate data entry and management of patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Insurance Verification: Assist in checking coverage and eligibility for medical procedures.
  • Patient Communication: Handle inbound and outbound calls, responding to inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Pre-Appointment Preparation: Gather necessary medical history and documentation before consultations.
  • Coordination with Healthcare Providers: Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to healthcare privacy regulations.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with medical billing, claims processing, and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in medical administrative support or patient intake coordination.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare scheduling software.
  • Background in medical billing and insurance verification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a remote healthcare support role is preferred.
