Key Account Development Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs, and effectively promoting our products and services.

This role requires a highly motivated individual who can drive sales growth by identifying dormant and underperforming accounts, transforming cold leads into potential customers, and setting up new accounts efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Account Management:
    • Identify and transform underperforming accounts into profitable opportunities.
    • Assist the Sales Team and accounting department in setting up new accounts, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • Salesforce Operations:
    • Monitor and report Salesforce data issues to the Sales Manager, ensuring timely resolution.
    • Leverage Salesforce workflows to automate and track customer processes, streamlining account setup and enhancing customer experience.
  • New Customer Process:
    • Qualify potential new customers, introducing them to additional services that enhance their experience.
    • Manage the new account process from initial quote request through to setup, minimizing friction and maximizing customer satisfaction.
    • Coordinate with Credit to manage customer credit processes, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of financial transactions.
    • Develop a deep understanding of new customers to collaborate with the Sales Manager on assigning an appropriate account manager, ensuring optimal customer support.
    • Compose welcome emails to new customers, providing essential contact information, quotes, resources, safety information, RFQs, and more.
  • Reporting and Coordination:
    • Prepare detailed reports for the sales manager and customers, highlighting key performance indicators and business insights.
    • Prepare QBR data and PowerPoint presentations for customer meetings, showcasing the value proposition and business benefits.
    • Support the sales team by scheduling events, meetings, and customer engagement activities, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an inside sales position or similar role.
  • Proficient in CRM software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multitask.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Familiarity with the transportation sales industry is a plus.
