Logistics Accounting Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Logistics Billing & Accounting Specialist with a background in accounting or law, preferably within a logistics or warehousing environment. In this position, you will focus on auditing software systems and UPS/FedEx invoices to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Your expertise will ensure operational accuracy, compliance, and cost-effectiveness by conducting thorough audits of UPS/FedEx invoices, reviewing and assessing software systems for accuracy and process efficiency, investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies, preparing detailed reports and summaries of audit findings with actionable recommendations, and developing and implementing controls to prevent future discrepancies and optimise processes.

You will also stay updated on relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards related to shipping and billing.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough audits of UPS/FedEx invoices to identify billing errors, overcharges, and discrepancies.
  • Review and assess software systems for accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of audit findings with actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and implement controls to prevent future discrepancies and optimise processes.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards related to shipping and billing.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Proven accounting experience, specifically within a logistics or warehousing company.
  • Proven experience in auditing, invoicing, billing and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with UPS/FedEx billing systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in auditing tools and software; advanced skills in MS Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
