Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned sales professional to join our team as a Business Development Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and managing existing client accounts.
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to increase sales and retention of assets
- Represent Orion knowledgeably and effectively, enabling advisors to identify benefits relative to competitors
- Develop new revenue opportunities and capitalize on referrals to increase sales in the territory
- Contact RIA firms and their advisors to provide additional information, obtain feedback, and utilize needs-based selling techniques
- Ensure excellent customer service with RIA firms and their advisors
- Create and maintain critical contact relationships with firms involved in distribution to the same market
- Monitor and analyze daily/weekly/quarterly sales goals and activity reports
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent knowledge of financial services offerings and company policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to interact, listen, influence, and partner in a professional and engaging manner with high-level decision-makers
- Leadership skills to provide a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, motivation, efficiency, and maximum utilization of staff skills
- Strong sales skills required: negotiation and persuasion, up-selling, closing, follow-up, relationship building, and networking
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
- Orion Industry Certification
- Series 65 license
- At least 3 years of experience in a field-based territory sales position selling financial services offerings to Registered Investment Advisors
- At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining a customer account base
