Financial Manager for Construction Projects

As a Financial Manager for construction projects, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of these initiatives. This involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with construction-specific accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for individual construction projects and ensure timely invoicing and payment processing
    • Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts regularly to prevent discrepancies
  • Job Costing and Budgeting
    • Track and allocate costs to specific construction projects to optimize budget utilization
    • Monitor project budgets and provide reports on variances to inform decision-making
  • Payroll Processing
    • Process payroll for construction workers while ensuring compliance with prevailing wage laws, union agreements, and tax regulations
    • Track hours, overtime, and deductions for employees to maintain accuracy
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Prepare and file tax documents, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory filings
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing construction finance
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management
    • Maintain records of vendor contracts, payments, and insurance certificates to facilitate smooth transactions
    • Process and track subcontractor invoices and lien waivers to minimize potential disputes
  • Software and Technology
    • Utilize construction-specific accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage to streamline financial operations
    • Maintain organized digital and physical records of financial documents to ensure easy access and retrieval
