Ship Management Lead

We are seeking a skilled Ship Management Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, reviewing, implementing, and managing standards and programs related to Ship Management Operations ensuring safe and efficient vessel operations as well as maintaining reliability and availability of the vessels in the fleet.

  • Manage day-to-day activities of the department to ensure vessels are operated to the highest standard with absolute regard to safety at sea and protection of the environment.
  • Prioritize risk management for entire Ship Management Operations.
  • Ensure vessel availability to trade within agreed schedules.
  • Implement vessel programs and controls to ensure timely departure and arrival as per scheduled plans.
  • Execute programs and controls to ensure Vessel Port Operational Efficiency (opening/closing of hatch covers, lashing/unlashing).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ship management systems to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of ships to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge through training programs.
  • Foster seamless communication and coordination among departments.

Requirements:

  • Maritime technical background.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to physically inspect vessels as needed.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical analysis skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in marine or mechanical engineering with leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent budgeting and cost control skills.

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the industry.
  • Preferably with 2 years' experience in Preventive Maintenance Systems.

Education Level:

Bachelor's degree in marine engineering preferred.
