Job Title: Medical File Reviewer/PHRN
Job Description- We are seeking a skilled Medical Reviewer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned in the client portal.
- As a Medical Reviewer, you will review and bookmark medical records and create a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on the veteran's medical history.
- You will remotely assist the medical provider during a scheduled appointment of a veteran by accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the medical provider's computer in the exam room prior to the scheduled appointment.
- You will also remotely interview the veteran via the approved video or telephone conference platform and transcribe the medical history based on the veteran's answers to the questions in the DBQ.
- In addition, you will remotely assist the medical provider by documenting all the physical examination findings in the appropriate section of the DBQs and complete all sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
- You will meet with medical providers to discuss each assigned case to determine the final diagnosis per DBQ and for approval of medical opinions.
- You will also transfer data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal and submit DBQs in the client portal.
- Finally, you will answer queries/addendum reports from the client's QAs and coordinate with medical providers and other team members regarding the scheduled appointments per day.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and an active PHRN license are required.
- You must have good communication skills to assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues effectively.
- You should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- You must be flexible in your work schedule changes as needed.
- You are accountable for all assigned cases.
- You should be proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- You will assist the Lead and/or Trainer in process improvement.
- You may also assist in creating process-related templates if needed.
- You will perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Fiber connection with at least 20 Mbps download and upload speeds is required.
- A backup internet connection with minimum 15 Mbps download and upload speeds is also required.
- Your main desktop/laptop must have an Intel i5–i7 processor, 8 GB RAM; 4th generation or newer.
- Your backup desktop/laptop must have an Intel i3–i5 processor, 8 GB RAM; 4th generation or newer.
