Medical Billing Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the timely and accurate processing of medical claims, ensuring that carriers receive all necessary information.
Key Responsibilities:- Review medical necessity appeals to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Fax appeals to the appropriate party, verifying receipt and follow-up as needed
- Set reminders for follow-up after appeal is sent, ensuring timely completion
- Confirm in-network provider ability to service new members, verifying credentials and coverage
- Attend weekly meetings, completing assigned tasks and contributing to team discussions
- At least 2 years of college education, with a focus on healthcare or business administration
- At least 2 years experience in medical billing, including provider credentialing, authorizations, and reimbursement
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word, with proficiency in data entry and record management
- Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, meeting deadlines and delivering results-oriented outcomes
