Medical Reviewer Job

Join our team of skilled medical reviewers who work remotely to assist in the evaluation of medical records. As a medical reviewer, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical data, identifying relevant information, and making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned through the client portal.
  • Review and bookmark medical records, creating a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on the veteran's medical history.
  • Remotely assist medical providers during scheduled appointments by accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the exam room prior to the appointment.
  • Remotely interview veterans via approved video or telephone conference platforms.
  • Transcribe medical history based on veterans' answers to DBQ questions.
  • Document physical examination findings in the appropriate section of DBQs.
  • Complete all sections of DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  • Meet with medical providers to discuss assigned cases, determining final diagnoses per DBQ and approving medical opinions.
  • Transfer data from DBQ spreadsheets to the client portal.
  • Submit DBQs in the client portal.
  • Answer queries/addendum reports from clients' QA teams.
  • Coordinate with medical providers and other team members regarding scheduled appointments per day.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active PHRN license
  • Excellent communication skills for assisting veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in work schedule changes, as needed.
  • Accountability for all assigned cases.
  • Proficiency with MS applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist in improving processes under the guidance of Lead/Trainer.
  • Support creation of process-related templates as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Work Environment

A reliable home setup is necessary, including:

  • Fiber connection with at least 20mbps download and upload speed.
  • Available backup internet with minimum 15mbps download and upload speed.
  • Main desktop/laptop: i5 to i7 processor with 8GB RAM, 4th generation and above.
  • Backup desktop/laptop: i3 to i5 processor with 8GB RAM, 4th generation and above.
