Job Role Overview

The primary function of this role is to provide exceptional patient care by addressing queries and concerns in a timely, professional, and empathetic manner.

This entails developing a comprehensive understanding of patient needs through active listening and interviewing skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating information among patients, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming calls according to established protocols and departmental standards.
  • Assist patients with their inquiries and concerns in a prompt and courteous fashion.
  • Collect outstanding patient balances and support third-party entities with questions regarding patient accounts.
  • Make outbound collection calls according to procedure and departmental guidelines.
  • Address patient billing queries and concerns while maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
  • Ensure HIPAA guidelines are respected by safeguarding protected health information in accordance with the position's duties and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve department and company goals and policies.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality, returning from breaks on time.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Preferred candidates will hold a college degree or at least 2 years of college education, preferably in a field related to medicine.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of handling confidential information.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient in email usage.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Team player who supports department and company goals and policies.
  • Flexibility with schedule is required.
  • Previous experience in a call center setting related to medical accounts and programs is advantageous.
