Job Description

With the growth of our mobile app, we require a senior engineer to manage new user base and contribute towards innovative projects. This role is ideal for someone with strategic thinking, who thrives in fast-paced environments and has experience in delivering high-quality products.

The chosen candidate will work closely with designers to take ownership of key features and become responsible for delivering quality results. They will also participate in discussions across different teams, review pull requests and support their peers.

This position requires strong technical skills, excellent communication skills and an ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Owning major features and working closely with our design team - take ownership of features inside the app and deliver high-quality features.
  2. Shape the future of our mobile team.
  3. Own, maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
  4. Participate in discussions across different teams - Product, Design, Engineering.
  5. Review pull requests, and support other teammates.
  6. Handle critical issues or cope with unexpected challenges.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of the importance of tests and how to approach writing tests.
  • Self-drive to improve the app and codebase above and beyond what's outlined in the spec.
  • Rock solid experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User oriented problem solving approach.
