Financial Operations Specialist

The Financial Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. This role involves a variety of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

This position covers multiple regions, with a primary focus on the Asia-Pacific market. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and updating general ledgers, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Assisting with the preparation of ad hoc and monthly reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and company policies.
  • Assisting with the treatment of prepayments, accruals, and capitalization.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Financial Operations Specialist will also be involved in:

  • Verifying payables entries to the correct subsidiary, department, and location.
  • Reporting on payables and receivables, assisting both the AP and AR departments in reporting, complete with days outstanding calculations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and have proven experience in general accounting or a related field. Proficiency in accounting software (i.e., Oracle NetSuite preferred) and MS Excel is also required. Additionally, strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills are essential for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Proven experience in general accounting or a related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (i.e., Oracle NetSuite preferred) and MS Excel.
