Job Title: Compensation Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compensation Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate results.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees and weekly off-cycle payrolls.
  • Audit timecards, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, bonuses, and final pay calculations.
  • Ensure approvals of time and pay exceptions by managers before processing.
  • Process and verify deductions such as benefits, union dues, garnishments, auto allowance, and Direct Bill payments.
  • Reconcile and submit payroll-related data for 401(k) plans, including loans, employer match calculations, auto-enrollment, and compliance with plan rules.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state payroll and leave laws, labor regulations per FLSA, and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Audit payroll and timekeeping data regularly for compliance and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a multi-jurisdiction environment.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, accounting principles, and tax regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Location: Primarily remote with occasional travel to local service center as needed.
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard business hours; may require extended hours during peak periods.
