Key Mortgage Broker Assistant/Parabroker/Settlement Officer Responsibilities

This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional support and ensuring seamless operations. As a Mortgage Broker Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Mortgage Broker throughout the loan application process.
  • Assisting brokers at all stages of the loan process, from first contact through to settlement.
  • Providing high-level executive and administrative support to Mortgage Brokers and their applications.
  • Requesting client information and liaising with clients directly to gather supporting information.
  • Conducting needs analysis, serviceability assessments, product assessment, and funding position based on clients' objectives and situations.
  • Researching lender policies.
  • Preparing loan comparisons.
  • Preparing and packaging client loan applications, ensuring accurate data entry and supporting documentation.
  • Lender follow-up and status reporting.
  • Taking ownership of compliance-related matters, capturing data and documentation in the CRM system.
  • Completing loan serviceability, ordering valuations, preparing forms, gathering rate quotes, arranging loan doc execution, and arranging settlements with stakeholders.
  • Additional duties may include post-settlement aftercare and reviewing existing client loans to maintain client contact.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years Australian experience supporting a mortgage broker or banking/lending industry.
  • Experience with Aggregator CRM software and Applyonline/Simpology (LoanApp) lodgment systems.
  • Passion for delivering quality client outcomes.
  • Understanding of data privacy, the Australian Best Interest Duty, and Responsible Lending legislation.
  • Accountable and accurate work.
  • Understanding of mortgages language and end-to-end loan application process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cohesive and high-paced environment.
  • Well-presented and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to understand financial documents and bank credit policy.
  • Great team player with a strong work ethic.
  • IT savvy and able to learn software quickly.
  • Highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking.
