Job Description

The Assistant Principal for Operations and Compliance is responsible for ensuring the smooth and consistent operation of schoolwide processes. This individual leads the implementation and improvement of core processes, provides administrative and instructional support to staff, and works closely with the Principal to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Responsibilities
  • Core Process Leadership
  • Manage the launch and execution of all core processes, including launching and executing the school year.
  • Update and improve core process documentation to reflect current practices.
  • Provide weekly process status updates to the Principal.
  • Instructional Leadership Support
  • Assist the Principal in providing instructional leadership, including preparation for department meetings by identifying issues and formulating meeting agendas.
  • Support curriculum planning, review, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with instructional coaches and department heads to ensure quality instruction.
  • Help coordinate professional development initiatives and follow-ups.
  • Supervision & Staff Coordination
  • Assist with evaluation of staff, including scheduling, data collection, and documentation.
  • Supervise completion of teacher responsibilities in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide disciplinary follow-up and ensure faculty adherence to expectations.
  • Assist with onboarding of new teachers.
Competencies and Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Master's Degree or higher, with a concentration in Educational Administration.
  • Minimum of ten years of successful teaching experience.
  • Minimum of five years in school leadership (e.g., department head, coach, or assistant principal).
  • Skilled in launching, executing, and refining schoolwide core processes.
  • Able to adapt processes and strategies to evolving school needs and priorities.
  • Technological proficiency, especially with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas) and digital tools (e.g. Formative, Class Kick).
  • Strong organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable and effective in a remote work environment.

Nice-to-Have

  • Proficient in updating and maintaining detailed process documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in curriculum planning, review, and implementation.
