Job Title: Publishing Assistant

This role is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with our team as a Publishing Assistant. As the founder's right-hand person, you will be instrumental in helping bring creative ideas to life and ensuring the smooth development and promotion of our titles.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Project Coordination: Assist in managing book creation from concept to publication, coordinate with illustrators, ghostwriters, and other freelancers, and monitor project timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Content Support: Review and provide feedback on drafts, organize and maintain book-related files and documentation.
    • Marketing & Advertising Assistance: Support promotional efforts including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach, and help strategize and execute marketing campaigns across online platforms.
    • Publishing Support: Research best practices for self-publishing platforms, assist in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication, and keep track of royalties, sales, and promotional results as needed.
  • Requirements:
    • At least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field (children's publishing is a plus).
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers.
    • A self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
    • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment.
    • Familiarity with children's book content and trends is a plus.
  • Nice-to-Have:
    • Knowledge of publishing platforms like KDP or IngramSpark.
    • Experience with graphic design tools or basic book formatting.
    • Background in marketing or social media promotion for creative products.
