Job Position Overview

The Procurement Manager is accountable for overseeing a team of Buyers/Senior Buyers, providing daily support and guidance on procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Supply-Chain Management:
    • Develop and execute effective procurement strategies to ensure seamless operations across assigned pod vessels.
    • Collate and document technical information from various sources to inform operational decisions.
    • Manage timely invoice clearance and prepayment remittances within assigned POD, fostering strong supplier relationships.
    • Monitor and maintain compliance with cost requirements, upholding the company's financial standards.
    • Support buyers in coordinating quotations, vendor selection, and logistics connections to secure optimal value.
    • Oversee weekly reports of overdue invoices, ensuring timely clearance and improved cash flow.
    • Establish comprehensive vendor lists for frequently used spares and services, optimizing the supply chain.
    • Serve as an escalation point for urgent operational support, leveraging expertise to address challenges.
  • Supervisory and People Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of Buyers, promoting collaboration and aligning their efforts towards shared goals.
    • Implement new procedures and processes, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Train buyers and senior buyers on Office 365 and procurement systems, emphasizing documentation best practices.
    • Assess training needs of assigned pods, communicating findings to enhance workforce capabilities.
    • Conduct annual performance reviews and develop tailored professional development plans for team members.
    • Monitor team attendance and proactively address potential resource shortages, ensuring operational continuity.
    • Facilitate weekly meetings with technical teams, promoting effective communication and cross-functional coordination.
    • Serve as a trusted point of escalation for technical teams, resolving buyer-related or supply chain-specific issues with problem-solving acumen.
