Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with clients in the tertiary, secondary, ELICOS, VET, and foundation sectors, as well as IDP's overseas offices, to ensure timely communication and debt recovery.
  • Follow up queries from clients regarding debt or problems associated with their accounts in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and report to the Team Leader on the nature of client enquiries received.
  • Monitor collections for Students Services, Publications, Exhibitions, Corporate Service, and Fellowships, and other issues related to collections when they arise.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Evaluate client contact details in finance systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Liaise with the Client Services Unit to ensure institutions meet provisions of the Client Services Agreement.
  • Negotiate disputes via country office and institutions, mediating where necessary.
  • Verify client information by liaising regularly with clients via telephone, email, or letter to ensure accurate reporting.

Financial Management and Administration
  • Distribute aging reports reflecting client debt levels and initiate action to recover debt through the Client Relations team and management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client details.
  • Process billing information for IDP staff and external customers.
  • Recommend changes to debt recovery procedures to the Manager.

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in Financial Accounting Packages – A/R module.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook to prepare reports.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to work cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Proven ability in debt collection and experience in accounts receivable roles.
  • Familiarity with computer-based accounts applications.
